I ran out of ctm thread near the end of the 5th rnd, and since I had to add ANYWAY, I went ahead and added the ball. In about 3 chains I was near the end and ready to try the split chain technique I learned yesterday… and forgot, it seems. So refresh of that, then kept trying and picking out, as it looked wrong, then realized…. I’m doing frontside backside tatting, so I need to NOT turn it over like the video shows, so my picot caps are on the front, not the back. It was quite intense getting it right, and that’s what I like about tatting, actually! It would have been somewhat easier if it had not been 70 thread!

May 4, 2020: started the flower edging, the main body was finished last night. I am using the same #18 for the flowers but a variegated white/green for around them. For attaching the chains with fs/bs tatting, I thought I needed to do it a special way, and kept messing up. Doing it from the front and bringing the loop upward like normal and then turning back over to do the rest of the chain, worked well and simply. See picture.
