Diagram for beginning circle omits showing the bare thread between the rings, giving the impression they are created separately and only attached by picot. Also showing star-like negative space in center, which doesn’t exist.

When done with the center part of the head, you end up on top the head, making a ch of 4 that goes toward the ear. At this point, I added a small false picot by just not sliding my first ds in all the way. This created a small loop that I can put a jumper ring in, for a necklace.

After finishing, cutting thread and hiding, and taking picture, I noticed that I had missed a small ring on the right side of the head, that might be an eye! ACK! I had to cut out from the ear and fray out the thread down to the neck, where I was able to tie both ends in a knot, pull thru thread from the shuttle until I had enough for the ball thread on the other side, tied in half a knot, the start tatting over the ends of the cut off. It worked better than I had thought, and it took longer to take pics than to finish the re-do!

The bottom pic is the one with the missing eye. Next up shows the part I cut off with a needle pointing to the place I joined thread back in, then some pics of the finished re-do :)
