So I re-started several times, because I could see my foundation row was still too tight and causing severe pull in. I also know that when blocked, the center part will be elongated, pulling in the sides, if I block… Anyway, I would have been to the part that I could add my first row of rings if not for all this starting over, but am only like 6 rows in. It is very pretty. It doesn’t really show up in the pic very well, but having it in my hand, I can appreciate it more. There is a picot at the center of each ‘loop’ that makes the ‘netting’. This very much looks like Irish crochet, and creates a much more delicate look than I had realized when I looked at the pattern pic. I have to confess I played a little and inserted some rings, just to see the effect and it was sooooo pretty with these picot loops. Wish I’d thought to take a close-up pic before pulling them out, but here are the loops up close, at least.
07-14-19 The beginning is made up of a foundation row, and then row 1 & 2. Then comes rows 3 & 4, which are repeated. I only did a total of 12 of rnd 3 & 4, and then did a rnd of rings. I wanted more rings to show in the body, and the cro-tatting is easier on my hands than the crochet, so win/win situation!
Aug 19, 2020: I had a strong start on this last year, but it was a year filled with one tradgedy after another and many health emergencies. So, I am finally back on it and hope to get this done!
