NOTES:
1. Beginners may find it confusing that she doesn’t mention to close the ring. If there are no more ds and it starts the next ring, then you have to close the last ring.

1. Don’t forget on the subsequent tre-foil corners, to not put a picot in the first ring, but join to the last tre-foil.

2. Watch to make sure you are connecting all your rings with the right sides on the SAME side, as you will be reversing to connect your chains, then reversing back for the rings.

3. I glanced at the pattern and went to do it while watching tv, and after getting it nearly done, I realized my chains weren’t right, and sure enough, I was supposed to have joined them, sooooo ZIP! I see that when I ripped back to the first chain, I twisted it when I restarted, but this is just the kind of thing one has to learn their way thru.

4. I did have trouble with the last ring join. It is a folded join because it has outward facing rings, and the picot will twist if you don’t do the final join as a folded one. I planned on looking for a video of needle tatting being done with a folded join, but the only one I found was being done on inward facing rings, which doesn’t even need one, because the picot doesn’t twist in those… sooooo… mine is not correct, and does twist. I did not cut my thread, so I can rip again if I feel like it, or even all of it, and try to do it over. Since cro-tatting rips out so easily, that is a simple option, if I feel like it. At any rate, here is my effort.
