Uses 2 shuttles. I put 3 yards of size 40 on each shuttle and ran out. So you need at least 4 yards on each shuttle.

WARNING: If you are wanting to make a pattern with a special effect, that is brought on by 2 solid colors, do NOT be creative and use varieagated, or you will just lose that affect. My Spiral Bookmark, does NOT spiral, because I failed to use 2 solid colors.

What I learned: I realized I had closed my ring and made a chain and had forgotten to attach the ring picot to the upper picot of the next set. I thought how this was going to be such a nuisance picking out size 40 thread, and fortuantely for me, soon realized that I didn’t have to do anything! The heavy line shows the missed picot, and the small lines show that when I do the next ring (left ring of the set of 3) that I would just join to the bottom ring first, and then join to the upper ring, and it all looks perfect! Good thing, because in a short time, I did the same thing again!
