I love this pattern. Merri Purdy is a genius. I did attach the handles before felting by shoving the ends through a “space” between stitches and knotting at that point.

I also used stitch markers (safety pins would work just as well) to hold together the knot ends that I didn’t get just right so that they would felt into a mass.

The project came out perfectly. I will definitely be doing this again after I try my hand at the mitered bag.

I am making this bag to use in a demonstration of how I use my super washer (a small hand cranked device) to felt my projects.

This pattern and project met all of my requirements for a demonstration project (uses one skein of yarn, works up quickly, other than a button, has no extraneous or difficult materials requirements.
