Notes

My gauge: 28 x 38= 4x4”

This pattern is nearly impossible to make on the machine. It took me a month, working 1 or 2 hours a day on this. I used the garter bar throughout and it was a slow project, but still a lot faster than doing it by hand.

I did not follow the pattern as it was completely different done on the machine, I knitted the front and back separately and then joined them on the machine sideways. I made it bottom up instead of top down and I decreased in the center instead of increasing like the pattern.

My gauge is totally different so I kind of guessed the numbers.

For joining the front to the neck V, it took me 3 time to get it right. I did short rows while joining 2 stitches at a times to one stitch of the collar for 22 stitches and then I joined the reminder stitches in one single row, working on each side separately.

Collar:

200 stitches worked in Garter Bar per pattern. Place marker on center st.

Front and back:

Cast on using crochet chain cast on.

Front 150 st.

Garter Bar 14 rows.

Work 100 rows.

Front: Work 100 rows (or as many for side seam up to armhole starts) with triple decrease center. Place a piece of cc yarn as a marker, this is the armhole mark. Then start decreasing on the sides every 5th row for 3 inches while continue triple decrease on the center. Add corners (join of the collar) by picking up the cast on of the collar every other row, working one side at a time, join 2 stitches into one by decreasing the 2 center furthermost stitches on one pass and joining the collar edge on the next pass on that same stitch previously decreased. The collar edge is joined by inserting the collar behind the work, with the prong tool one st at a time. Continue decreasing 2 st every other row while joining collar on the next row and putting the stitches on hold that had already been joined, working only on the reminding stitches. (carriage is on hold). After joining 21 stitches of the collar, stop decreasing and join all the reminding stitches to the collar in one single row. Cast off.

Back.

Back 180.

Garter Bar 14 rows. 6 main color, 2 CC, 6 MC.

Work 150 rows or until measure as front up to side marker of armhole.

Cast off 15 sts each side. Decrease fully fashion decrease on each side every 5 rows until 9” from armhole.

-57, 0, 57 remaining sts. (114) Decrease 50 sts across.

Join remaining 64 sts to center back collar sts. Hang collar first then join back stitches. Cast off.
