Gauge: 5.5 sts/inch over stitch pattern
Rib pattern: All Rounds: K2, P2
Sizes 32, 34, 36( 38, 40)
BODY
CO 176, 188, 200, (210, 220) Sts.
Rib for 14 inches(Shorten or lengthen body here)
BACK
Divide stitches in half; working back 88, 94, 100, (105, 110) sts only, BO first 3 sts at the beginning of next 2 rows. 82, 88, 94, (99, 104) sts rem.
Dec. 1 st at beg of next 6 rows. 76, 82, 88, (93, 98) sts rem.
K evenly in 2x2 rib pattern for 7”, 7 1/2”, 8,(8 1/2”, 9”)
K 24, 27, 30, (33, 36) sts, BO center 28, 28, 28, (27, 26) sts, K rem
Place shoulder sts on holders.
FRONT
BO first 3 sts at beginning of next 2 rows. 82, 88, 94, (99, 104) sts rem.
Dec. 1 st at beg of next 6 rows. 76, 82, 88, (93, 98) sts rem.
K 1 row even
K 38, 41, 44, (47, 49) sts {THIS IS THE CENTER OF THE V}, place marker, turn, and k back to beginning of row in est. patt.
Working the left side of the neck only:
Row 1 (RS): K to 3 sts before marker, K2tog, K1
Row 2 (WS): K in est. patt.
Repeat these 2 rows, decreasing on every RS row a total of 10 times. 28, 31, 34, (37, 39) sts. rem.
Decrease in following fashion 4 times:
Row 1 (RS): K to 3 sts before marker, K2tog, K1
Row 2, 4 (WS): K in est. patt
Row 3 (RS): K in est .patt.
24, 27, 30, (33, 36) sts rem. K even until armhole measures 7”, 7 1/2”, 8”, (8 1/2”, 9”). Place left neck stitches on a holder, and work the right neck decreases just as the left.
With the WS facing: Use a 3 needle bind off to join the shoulders.
Finishing:
Weave in ends.
Use fabric glue, such as Fray-chek to seal ends and fasten.
Optional: Do 1 round of half- double crochet around neck and armhole edges.
