The stitch pattern was inspired by Sporty Pullover, Knitting Manual, Kristin Spurkland. I drafted my own pattern according to my husband’s measurements and I think it is a great fit. I knit a generous swatch and machine washed and dried it. It was 23 st, 29 R = 10 cm. Then I drafted the pattern according to those measurements. (The yarn shrinks 15 - 20% in length after washing and drying) It was rather nerve wracking to throw the sweater in the washer afterward but it shrank according to plan and worked out really well. I was really happy with the way the neck turned out - my best ever neckline! I had been watching Lucy Neatby videos showing how to “knit up” stitches, not “pick up” stitches and I really learned a lot about adding ribbing. My one problem is that the lower edge curls up a little. Don’t know why. Maybe cast on too loosely or should have used smaller needle for rib. Best of all….my husband loves it!
