Rhapsody is extended, emotional piece of music or literature, or an enthusiastic written or spoken response or feeling, or an ancient Greek epic poem.

I had this yarn in my stash for 3 years or so and it was time to use it ;-) I want to knit a loose fitting open cardigan. I do not care much for buttons, so no buttons planned. It is going to be seamless topdown with seamless set-in sleeves. Started this project very fast. Everything fell into place right away with the stitch pattern I choose and the yarn. I am enjoying knitting this a lot :-))

02.03.13
Since starting this project I have already knitted 3 shawls ;-)) However, cardigan is moving along too. It is a very enjoyable project :-)
Cardigan is loose fitting and also this dress form is smaller then my size. I bought it to primary photograph shawls and if needed other projects.

03.14.13
The body is done :-) Now, on to the sleeves ;-))
I am realizing this cardi is going to take awhile to complete, since it is almost summer weather here and also that shawl addiction of mine is always getting in the way of knitting other projects ;-)))

03.22.13
The cardi is done and blocking. Just decided to finish it and not knit anything else until it is done. So glad I did, since I love the result :-)) Will have to knit another one in black.
The sleeves are knitted seamless from the top and flat after the all sts for sleeve are picked up. I have knitted sleeves this way few other times, but this was the first time I tried this technique in my own design. The sleeve construction was actually the primary reason for this design since I wanted to learn how to do them myself. When I knitted other designs with this type of sleeves, they used short rows with w&t by picking up all sts for the sleeve at first. I really hated that approach I must say. So, I picked up sts different way from the top of the sleeve at the shoulder and added new stitches gradually without any wrap and turn at all. It worked beautifully and I will definitely will knit this type of sleeve again.

Blogged.

About the pattern:
Many of you asked me about the pattern. Thank you so much for the interest and your kind words of encouragement. At this point, I will just write the pattern when I have a chance in my size (M) and test knit it myself. I would like to make some improvements to it and I want another cardi like that in black. I will consider writing the pattern for different sizes if there is sufficient interest in this pattern. It would be very helpful to me if you could let me know if you would be interested in the pattern being available on Ravelry.
