So I decided to hunker down and try this knitting thing. Oh god. I broke the seal. I bought a book and am attempting the bracelet. Might as well go small. A little fiddling and I think I am starting to get the hang of it. :)

So, I’m thinking this book is kind of a ‘guide’ really because they don’t explain it very well. After I figured out what they were trying to say (without actually saying it) I could wiz right along…I do like having the book though as a guide to keep me on track, but I’m thinking in the future I’ll use youtube maybe as that link below helped more than the book.
adult hats
Bulky -- 60 stitches on US10
Worsted -- 80 stitches on US7-8
Sport -- 100 stitches on US5
Fingering -- 120 stitches on US3

I was able to actually get the hang of it really well toward the end…it was all knit stitch….I was so proud…

Then I moved on to the next project that involved purl. Fuggettaboutit. found this video for help with purl: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nD5fxWP75yI

Finally got the purl down…started on the headband portion of the booklet. :)

And with that, I have completed a whole headband. It does curl, I have been on Ravelry long enough to know people say that knitting does that, and I considered crocheting around the edges but I actually kind of like the curled look. :)

When reading a diagram if the number is on teh wrong side remember to read the row starting on the same side as the number.

Intarsia in the round: Basically you will just turn your work at the end of the round-but do a GSR (or w&t) and go back the other way and work the chart opposite and when you get to the GSR (or W&T) you will work the stitch and then turn again and do it again.
