Sock Knitters Anonymous October challenge: texture
I love all the Scottish texture patterns found in ganseys. So, in honor of the Molly and Hector MacDonald characters in the BBC series MONARCH OF THE GLEN, I’ve designed this sock. She’d be wearing these while mucking around in her garden, placing a bet with her bookie, painting in her studio, or plotting her next antic in promoting women’s rights in the sleepy village of Glenbogle; Hector would wear them with his kilt on walks down by the loch, golfing with Killwillie, shooting with Golly, or schmoozing with the local politicos. ++
++I originally named it Molly MacDonald, but my spouse, The Old Goat, loved the pattern, so it’s become Molly & Hector. As it turns out, it’s a great unisex design.
