These mitts would have taken a day or two, had I not run out of yarn 3/4 of the way through and had to find something close and dye it to match. Worth it for the outcome, though. This is one of those simple patterns that gives back a lot more than you put into it.

Every time I knit mitts I reflect at the end that they are a bit too wide around the fingers. I think this is because I’ve got slender hands and tapered fingers. When I knit this pattern again, I’m going to try decreasing one stitch out of every band of ribbing about five rows out from the end. Fortunately, it doesn’t matter in this case as they are for my son and a perfect fit.
