1/22-14: i’m just about halfway through this project and I am really impressed by the pattern. It is exceptionally easy to follow. I don’t like charts and typically will use written directions instead of charts when they are available, but this is a simple 10 stitch repeat on 60 stitches and it’s internal logic is very easy to grasp, which makes the pattern easy to memorize. I like the yarn a lot. It has a unique twist but the stitch definition is not as tight as I would like it to be so I’ve given it four stars. If that changes after I block this, I’ll come back and update.

My only concern at this point is that I’m knitting on size 9 needles instead of 10 1/2, because I tend to be a very loose knitter. I’m not sure this is going to be big enough. I seriously hope I am not knitting it for the dog!

This is such a good easy lace project, particularly because of the heavyweight yarn, that my daughter has decided to knit it has her first place project.
