I finally decided that I wanted a pair with thumbs. I also took up car knitting! That 3 hour trip flew by! I need to do this more often.

Right mitt complete 11/29/2015. Left mitt will be a while since I’m getting my wisdom teeth taken out. OUCH.

Mods for the thumb gusset will be added to the pattern once they are finalized, but I don’t think they’ll change much from this.

Right mitt notes:
In place of knitting flat rows 25-34, placed markers after first stitch and before last stitch. Began increasing 2 sts every other row on row 24. Remove gusset sts (14 total) to holder after row 35.
Make 2 beginning of row 36. (2nd made st will be on the other needle)
continue in pattern

Thumb gusset
Pick up 8 sts evenly across top of opening/side (so there are no holes)
rows 1-2- knit
row 3- (k7, k2tog) x2, k4
row 4- knit
rows 5-6- k1p1 around
BO

weave in ends

Left mitt is the same as the right mitt, but be careful of noting when the row actually begins. I think I knitted an extra half row because I wasn’t paying attention.
