Great pattern, horrible yarn.

My changes to pattern:

1. Foundation single crochet (fsc) 84 instead of chain 84.

2. Twisted the fsc through 180 degrees to give a mobius cowl.

3. Turn after every row, otherwise you get the top of the cowl is the “right side” and the bottom is the “wrong side”. This means that alternate rows start with ch3 then a shell and end with dc into dc, sl st to top of ch3. It’s actually very obvious what you need to do when you’re making it!

I was pleased with how it looked but I couldn’t wear it because it was so itchy and prickly. I tried soaking it in Eucalan; I also tried hair conditioner. In the end I gave it to a charity shop. It’s a great pattern - pity about the yarn.

I made another cowl using Artesano alpaca and that is wearable. My softest cowls were made using UKAlpaca but I have found that over time that felts slightly.
