I want to knit this beautiful and gigantic shawl. But I dislike the sparrow tail look of the beginning corner. Therefore I am inventing another way to start.
Essai 1 is all right. I could have chosen a lace pattern better adapted to the rest of the shawl’s theme. A heart for instance.
Essai 2 is the one. <3
November 23th : row 300 is DONE!
Each row is longer and slower than the precedent, but I feel like the charts are going to be simpler and simpler now, so it keeps going at a confortable speed.
I have a couple of small errors (some holes should be larger) but it’s barely noticeable, and I don’t make them now.
I still love this pattern and the yarn is a great choice. I very happy with this knit. I may however cast-on with thicker yarn for a couple of hats and a skirt soonish, as I am cold in my house and need more warm knits. I will also knit my first handspun sweater as soon as the yarn will be spun. (I am at 3 bumps out of 6)
May 4th : The light is back in the house, and the shawl back on the needles, starting with row 321/478. I will have to find the magazine soonish!! haha
August 14th : Left it aside for june-july. It is helping me now cope with my daughter’s depart, combined with some series watching.
Row 355
ETA : It’s been a year I started this! I sure did not knit,, spun or saw a lot during those 12 months. Sigh
September 11th: row 380. The rows are long and more and more boring, but easier too.

After a long hiatus I am knitting again! I took out 24 rows after the central diamond was completed, because it is already huge. I am very, very close to th end, which means I will have to use my brain again to solve the ends problem again: how to turn the corners with my border? I hope this will not cause a new hiatus. I am ready to see this shawl done.
