Cast on February, 9th 2011. Worked up to row 31; gosh I hated having 360 stitches on my circular needles! Thank goodness I was reading “The little house on the prairie” to son James and that distracted me a bit….
I’m on mindless stockinette now….easy…
Feb 18th 2011: lots of mindless knitting on the body- at the federal building in Portsmouth , in the car, reading to James, while doing Bookflix on computer….going forward, after Valentine’s week projects!
Feb 24th 2011: finished body. I finished it up before progressing onto the sleeves. I find it more rewarding when I try it on , and it saves me frustration when I think my project is finished and it is not. And I know it is shameful, but I put all the stitches on a straight needle, instead of using a circular along the body. It saves a lot of unnecessary strain on my hands (right one has been bothering me a lot lately with carpal) if I have the needle under the armpit. I know, I know, it’s disgusting, EZ would not approve of it. But I do it. And it works for me.
Feb 25th 2011: uh, oh?! Do I have enough yarn for both sleeves?Finished first sleeve in an emergency way: I didn’t have size 7 double pointed, so I ended up using a long circular in a magic loop kind of way(I think).
Feb 26th 2011: went to Spinning yarns where I picked up beautiful handmade buttons. They’re kind of big for my usual style, but I like them. And James has been saying to everybody that at the yarn store there was a lady firing with a cannon(she was actually demonstrating how to make buttons, and no, she didn’t have a cannon…).I also picked up an extra skein of yarn, but I did not use it. I have some left actually from the 5th skein .And I picked up short circular number 7 for the second sleeve. Much better.
Feb 27th 2011: finished and proudly wearing it!
