A knitted Atlantic hagfish with crocheted finny bits. To be semi-filled with lentils and tied in a knot. Unless of course the lentils would be attractive to mice. In which case a rethink might have to happen.
Yes, mice like lentils. So I went round the house and gathered up every abandoned plastic BB gun pellet I could find. The pellet dispenser with its narrow neck was ideal for introducing them to the now narrow opening at the head end. The body is about half full. I shall have to obtain more (particularly to replace those I have appropriated once the owner notices). Meanwhile I might eviscerate an unwanted plush creature to top up the hagfish.
So now on to plan C. Having drained a rather revolting koala bear of its inner substance (small light plastic granules) and fed them to the hagfish their superior qualities became immediately apparent. So I drained the hagfish into a measuring jug, patiently separated the BBs from the grains, reinstated the BBs to a large BB dispenser and reinserted the koala granules. Next step - the removal of the life fluids of a particularly revolting pastel-coloured seahorse and the frois-gras-feeding of the granules to the hungry hag.
26 Jan - tried embroidering teeth on the tongue but (no doubt as a result of my sewing skills) that proved epic fail. Now going through my bead collection to see if that might work.
Audiobook Maisie Dobbs 3 - Pardonable Lies. The whole “psychic” trip is making me uneasy. But the period detail still entertains.
