big thanks to those that took progress photos for reminding me about all the seaming (before I got started)

the designer declares this is a great pattern for beginners & estimates it’s about a 2hr project?? maybe when I read beginner I think a complete novice, but this took me 5hrs.

instead of safety eyes I made fabric yoyos around a 7mm paper template, which I removed prior to stitching in place. the seam allowance lends a slight bulging that works fine here. & i’m resisting the urge to put glimmers in them, i think the blushing cheeks will be quite enough.

curling the horns was difficult. I did it after securing them to the head, they were the first parts I seamed, followed by ears then arms.

goatee is two hitch knots right next to each other, with an extra stitch or two over the attachment, then the ends groomed out ¹

quick note for me, I took this opportunity to use up the yarn ramens in willow, they’re held double & about 8m per length

and after that little beard, I fell in love with this adorable face! wasn’t sold on the success of this FO until then.

as this was intended to be a holiday ornament, I added a length of gold DMC floss through the top
