Notes

07-10-2016

I’m using one blue shade for the two blues in the pattern. I also substituted sun yellow for the mustard colour.

I used a 2 x 2 Italian tubular cast-on as outlined in this excellent video.

I always knit a sleeve first, rather than the body, as there are fewer stitches to rip out if gauge needs adjusing.

I made it about 5” longer than the pattern called for.

This pattern is translated from Icelandic so some imagination is required for true intent, for example, a circular needle is referred to as a ‘twin pin’, and it took me a while to realize the ‘welt’ was referring to the neckband/collar. This pattern would not be suitable for a beginning knitter. The knitting itself isn’t hard but pattern interpretation leaves a lot to the imagination.

I can see why Icelanders wear these sweaters. They are warm and toasty.
