19/11 - I cast on 56 stitches on 2.5mm needles based on the same setup with this yarn for my Cable Along Socks. The cuff is done (I reduced it to 7 rows), and I’m part way through the leg of the first sock. With a solid colour yarn I was worried that the pattern didn’t appear to stand out but when I tried it on my leg it was more obvious - not as striking as a thinner variegated yarn, but I think it will be okay.

20/11 - For the leg, I’ve repeated R1-R2 14 times.

21/11 - I’ve just completed my first grafted sock toe. It was easy! I’m not sure yet however if I like the style in comparison to the 8 pointed star toe that I usually do.

The heel was also a bit different to my standard one and the sock has turned out wider than my Cable Along Socks - am I knitting looser or does the stitch combination generate more stretch? I’ll have to see once I’ve finished the second sock and given them a wash to compare properly.

I’m disappointed by the flat stockinette toe, I wish I’d been adventurous and found a way to continue the pattern further towards the toe.

22/11 - Working on the second foot. I’ve realised why these socks are looser! I used a metal 2.5mm circular needle for the Cable Along Socks and I’m using a wooden one for these. Metal needles must help me knit tighter.
