Lovely soft and beautiful yarn!

6 March - I’m making this shawl with a thinner yarn and smaller needles than the pattern calls for but it’s looking good :)

7 March - Where the pattern mentions reaching 56 stitches, I’ve continued two more repeats so I have 88 stitches at that point instead of 56. The shawl looks like it will be shorter in height than the one in the book but I think this will be tall enough to work (edit: keep reading.. I was wrong!).

8 March - Where it says to do 12 more repeats of rows 7 & 8, I did 20 to match my stitch count.

11 March - Less than 20 grams to go. The height of the shawl is now looking like it will end up taller than the pattern.

13 March - The shawl is off the needles and has ended up taller and narrower than the pattern but it is just wide enough to wear as a shawl.

Final thoughts
In hindsight I would have just worked the pattern as it was written and then the final measurements would probably have matched the pattern more closely despite using a 400 yard fingering weight skein.

The main reason I made my adjustments was that I thought the height wouldn’t change much after the Rows 7 & 8 section, but in fact it kept on growing at a reasonable pace.

Finished measurements after washing:
Height (at the tallest point): 50cm (19.75”)
Width (tip to tip): 126cm (49.5”)
