Will finally deal with the orphans in my worsted / aran stash. This is going to be a pick up and put down project .. something simple to work on a block at a time - 36 blocks required

picked up another set of US7 DPNs as mine are on an adventure somewhere. I’ve got 2 sets of blocks done - pink and dusty pink, 1/2 way though the peach.

yea!!! peach colour is done! on to spruce green
22-07-2016
yea! green all done . was starting to do mocha coloured when I decided I need a bit of a break - off to knit some socks me thinks :)
04/06/2017
finished Block 1 in the light brown!! yeah love shown to this patient blanket :)
11/22/2017
picked it back up again - block 2 was on row 16
11/24/2017
Not sure how I feel about the bind off on Block 3. It uses a stretchy bind off which is totally unnecessary as this block is done in the round and comes out totally square.
I think I might just unbind them and change it to a regular bind off - at least on one so I can see the difference
:
uses less yarn and is more on spot for the 8.75” finished size - will frog all bind offs for this blocks and redo the bind off
11/25/2017
- redid all the bind off for all the Block 3s I have done
- posted on the Webs Board for the MKAL regarding the missing instruction for LC RC
3. If no reply rec'd, or I can't figure out a way to make the block acceptable to me, I'll use Knitterati block 14 to replace it. I'll have to use smaller needles to bring the finished size down from 10x10 to the 8.75 required by this pattern
4. starting next colour section while waiting for reply to my question. Using Knitpicks Brava Red for the next set
YAY!!! rec’d full instructions from a member of the discussion board - full steam ahead
11/27/2017
All 4 blocks in the brown beige colourway done
Knitpicks red next
11/29/2017
Block 2 done
knitpicks is 985 yds/lbs for unlabeled yarn formula
12/03/2017
1 skein of knitpicks brava completed blocks 1, 2, 4 and half of block 3. If I need to I can use the yellow skein for a set of I have another similar yellow to finish the color set
Red colour set will be done tmrw.
12/04/2017
- Red colour set done; 2.8 oz left in skein; .7 used for Block 3
- frog and fix block 2 in pink colour set
01/28/2018
Starting Blue colour; block 1 started
01/30/2018
- Wove in ends on previous finished blocks
- Block 2 finished
- Started block 4
02/01/2018
Block 4 in blue is done
Started Block 3
I’m going to frog Block 4 of the brown set (the dual colour one) instead of doing sections of colour, I’ll change colour ever other row instead.and use the left over off-white that I used in Blocks 1 and 2 instead of the brown - will make that set blend a lot better; I’ll use this technique for Block 4 in the yellow set as well since I get almost a full set from KnitPicks Brava when I did the red set
02/03/2018
- finished the blue colourway
- frogged dual beige block and reworked it with alternating colour stripes with existing colours in the other 3 blocks. Looks much better
Break for working on Yukon Blast Hat
white and yellow colourways left before blocking and joining
02/10/2018
Block 1 white started
02/11/2018
Block 1 finished
Block 4 started
Block 4 complete
Since there’s a hue difference, I’m going to switch to the other skein so the blocks are more ‘balanced’ in colour
02/12/2018
Started / finished Block 2 white
02/13/2018
White colourway done
Block 2 yellow started
02/14/2018
Block 2 finished
Block 3 started
02/15/2018
Block 3 finished
LAST BLOCK
Block 4 started; alternate rows to extend the original yellow - have another 2 yellows of fingering to finish off if necessary
02/17/2018
- yellow block set done. Not sure if I like the 4th block. If I do the 5 x 7 layout, I’ll likely drop the dual yellow bock. Wish I had more of the canary brava
- steam blocked 4 sets so far - not using blocking wires as to fiddly - blocks are 9”
- steam blocking done
- blue blocks joined- steam blocked joined blocks again
02/19/2018
red, green and dusty rose joined. Not happy with the way the blue blocks joined up - may frog the joins and do it again.
Once I have the peach blocks joined, I’ll lay it out again and swap out the pink for the beige blocks - pink is to light a hue to be on the outside
02/22/2018
all sub sections joined; now to steam block and do final joins then edging
02/23/2018
2nd subsection joined - started 3rd
02/24/2018
- blue / red and beige / rose section joined.
- yellow / white blocks joined
- only 3 sections left to join
will have 2 cable blocks next to each other. debating on whether to redo yellow blocks location or just leave it. If I switch to rose / beige on bottom, no duplicate blocks, but I don’t want the rose / beige on the bottom.
02/26/2018
and top done :D now to decide on the edging
