sweater is finished and drying in front of a fan. though it’s still damp, i quickly pulled it on. i will wait to pass judgement when it’s dry, but at the moment, i’m thinking the increases past the waist are unnecessary for me, or the rate of increase in the pattern is too fast (maybe it should be every 8th row, if at all).
maybe a tumble through a dryer would make a difference too … but i don’t have a washing machine or dryer (hence, the rolled up towel and fan method).
i did not rip out the increases after the waist --- i turned my sweater sideways and re-blocked that section to flatten it out a bit -- all’s good! juniper is officially finished with ends woven in.

i knitted the S at a larger gauge. my purl gauge is looser than my knit gauge -- i liked the fabric.
IF i was to knit this again, i would make my swatch (in the round, in purl) with the cable design. it’s really hard to judge the length of the shoulder/arm seam when the fabric severely puckers up due to the increases on either side of that 2 stitch cable every round.
i have done an incredible amount of ripping on this project -- it’s like knitting a fingering wt. sweater twice.
but, i’m so far very very pleased with the yarn --- it has amazing drape and i love the color mix with the purl side as the “right” side. --- and it’s holding up great to all my frogging -- even the parts i had to unravel and wash.
note to everyone! --- don’t try to knit with kinky yarn (yarn that had been blocked and then unraveled and knit with again) --- the kinks will make the stitches uneven, and that won’t block out --- ask me how i know.
