Since Stella lives in Arizona, this set of socks will have various designs worked in.
I previously made the vest in colorwork, so now I’m going to put the design on a pair of socks as a texture pattern. I had to adapt the chart a bit as the socks are only 42 stitches around, but that’s no biggie.

Ok, so the adapted color chart didn’t work--too busy, and I forgot to take a pic before I frogged. Simplified it considerably, but I don’t think it will work either.
Dropping back five and punting for the night.

Punted on the Navajo idea. Doing a simple seven-stitch purl diamond.
Can’t remember doing a stitch pattern like this before, but I swear it’s acting a bit like ribbing. It seems pretty stretchy but without also pulling itself in. I’m hoping it doesn’t stretch and stretch.

Finished the first sock yesterday and am halfway along the foot of the second this morning.
I’ve never done any patterning at all on socks, just good old stockinette. So imagine my surprise when I realized that a purl texture pattern is also stretchy, though not as stretchy as actual ribbing. This pair is going to be loose, I’m afraid.
I keep thinking I should frog, but I’m not going to, because I want to see long-term results.
But the next few pairs will be back to plain stockinette.

Pics forthcoming when my laptop decides to read my camera’s SD card. Argh!!!
