My husband loves to golf. So, I am working on this vest - for his Fall and Winter plays.
After spinning and checking and re-checking the gauge, I think I need to cast on more stitches because I have a smaller gauge.
OK - here is a bigger swatch..
The latest swatches I did on my knitting machine. Still not sureā¦.
Check out my swatches for colors and let me know what you think, please. Thank you!

OK. After swatching and re-swatching we choose T5.0 - 18stsx25,5rws.
Time to cast-on!
10/6/2010
Finally I knitted the ribbing. Tubular cast-on, 44 sts, needles #4mm, 4 rows. Switched to #3.75 mm needles to continue ribbing 1x1 - total of 21 rows.
In the last row - added 10 sts.
Put on the machine needles. That was a challenge! Knitted the back to the armholes.
3/28/2013 - Wow!
And the Vest is done!
I had to knit many band swatches and make several attempts until finally I came up with perfect neck- and armhole bands.
They are done with many techniques and feature sewn tubular bind-off.
How I made it:
Made a crocheted chain with the 4.5mm hook (like in skeeking); 4.5mm needles - picked up knitted stitches along the front side; made 3 rounds in stockinette, 4.00mm needles - 5 rows in 1x1 rib; 1 row of - knit 1, slip 1 purl; tubular bind-off was done with tapestry needle.
