Needles: 2 size 8’s and 2 size 4’s required. One each: 31 inch circulars and straight pairs. I bought Addi Turbo (nickel) and Lantern Moon straights for this project.

Lavender yarn is a light and dark purple tweed with a hint of pink, and flecks of tropical green and deep teal.

Got some Rowan Alpaca Colour yarn in Teal color to tip the edges with at the cuffs, and bottom rib/hem (just for fun).

UPDATE: Had to steek and cut the sleeves down (too wide), then reinforced the sleeve seam with more hand stitching with regular thread (rather than yarn). Don’t know why the pattern made the sleeves so huge or if I did something wrong in reading it.

Turned out quite nice, I thought. I had to redo the first couple of buttonholes twice to get it right. Found nice vintage buttons to match at Int’l Silks & Wool store, Los Angeles. Tipping with contrasting color looked great.

Finished in time to give Mom for Mother’s Day. The yarn was easy to work with and this pattern moved along rather quickly. Mom says it’s a bit “loose” or drapey, I guess is what she means, for her and it might be a little large, though I thought she liked to wear her things quite on the loosely-fit side. Have not seen it on her in person, just one photo. In hind sight, she probably would have preferred a thicker yarn for a more substantial/warmer type cardi.
