I made several changes to the pattern (nothing that changed the basic look, which I loved). I didn’t like the yarn I was knitting at the gauge the pattern called for, so I swatched a couple times, found a gauge I liked, and recalculated the numbers for that gauge. Also, I decided to knit the garter stitch section longer; otherwise, the change to the lace would have hit me right across the bust (not a good look!). Accordingly, I wanted the buttons to extend further, so I had to add an additional buttonhole.

The “finished” picture isn’t actually finished; I’ve yet to block the sweater or sew the buttons on…but I couldn’t wait to wear it!
