Great pattern, and such a fun knit (I can see why everyone seems to making this hat).

My yarn seems too big (although 8wpi) for 4mm needles, but it worked. I used Susan B Anderson’s modifications (link here). I didn’t want a big hat.

Cast on 88 stitches and added 2 stitches once the ribbing was finished. Did one and a half pattern repeats. I also added another K2tog round at the end (for 5 stitches), and knit about 5 rounds to make a little ‘pee-pee’ on the top instead of a pompom (I find pompoms heavy for hats).

The hat is still big (I think this has more to do with my big handspun yarn), and I am so glad that I used the modification.
Super soft, and it should be very warm.
This is a Christmas gift for my husband - he needed a warm hat that came down low over his ears - this should work!
