Such a shame that this yarn has been discontinued. But I found some skeins on clearance and know it’s still available if you hunt online.
I made some dishcloths for a friend and used the leftovers for a really small cloth which I kept. Even though it’s small, it has become my favorite. I’m finally getting around to knitting up two of the four balls I stashed away some time ago. This time, mine are generously sized. Yeah! They are all reversible and I’m all happy.
From the Bottom Photo Up:
The first one (green) is basically a modified Grandmother’s Favorite with 3 edge sts instead of 2 and approximately 40 YO increase holes along the sides before decreasing. It made a cloth about 10” square. It was already put to use in my kitchen before even taking a photo of the FO. Hahaha!
The second one (green) is a reversible 3X3X3 K/P block stitch and is about 12” square, unwashed (75 sts across). Chinese Waitress Cast On, Suspended Bind Off. These two used up all the green yarn in one ball.
The third cloth (tan) uses the reversible textured pattern found here, worked over 64 sts. Chinese Waitress Cast On.
Fourth Cloth (tan) Chinese Waitress Cast On (64 sts) uses bricks of stockinette and reverse stockinette, 8 sts long, 5 rows high. I used two knit rows in between each shift of “bricks.” Visually, I don’t think this made any difference but I did it anyway to be consistent.
Cloth 5 is a Grandmother’s Favorite, made from the tan to be a mate to the green one. I started with the bit of yarn leftover from the previous two tan dishies.
Cloth 6 is a green version of cloth 3. Taken after being washed.
Cloth 7 is also reversible using knits and purls…
