Need an easy project because the next week is guests, guests, and, oh, yeah, more guests. I think I can talk and crochet this one at the same time.

Also gives me a chance to work with the candy box of color that is a Noro yarn, as I was inspired by fanalaine’s version for my yarn choice. Honestly, I can’t imagine anyone would actually knit socks out of this stuff, largely because of the thick-thin quality, but it’s fun to crochet.

Excellent photo tutorial for this design, and I learned some German equivalents for US crochet terms to boot:

There is also a chart which I found a bit confusing until I looked at the photo tutorial. On the chart, chain stitch is a small black dot, and single crochet is a small black rectangle.
