Notes

Hoping to zoom through this one. SHELTER is one of my favorite yarns to work with, and this color is just beautiful.

Jan 7: Finished the body. On to the sleeves.

Feb 12: Finished, washed and blocked

UMA: I love Chic Knits patterns for their style which is flattering to many shapes and sizes and their construction which minimizes seaming. This cardigan has a slight A-line shape, pockets, and can serve as a jacket. No modifications, except to go down a needle size to get gauge.

SHELTER: On the plus side, the yarn is lightweight and lofty with beautiful colors. The tweediness adds depth and richness.

On the not so plus side, I have never encountered so much VM in any yarn. I have made several projects with Shelter, and haven’t run into this issue anywhere near this extent. I tried to pick out the pieces as I went, but had to go over the finished sweater once more to remove the traces.

Be careful when tugging this yarn to tighten up a stitch as it will break easily; however, since it is very easy to spit splice I ended up with very few ends to weave in.
