My husband has a large head so I used the I size hook instead of H. Also, I don’t like to weave in ends, so I slip-stitched from the end of the hat to the beginning of the ear flaps and then from the first ear flap to the start of the second. Also, when I tied off the 2nd ear flap I left 11” long ends so I could braid them into the yarn for the braids rather than weaving them in.
