Regarding WHITE HAT with PINK STRIPES:
My 30th Chemo Cap sure is cute… if I can say so myself. But I have to really give credit to the Bell Sisters (Ding & Dong)!

I do not have a size 1 circular needle so I did the brim on a size 2 needle. Now I am afraid the brim is too loose and floppy. But I am just knitting on as this hat is just too cute! I am having a difficult time using the Fixation yarn with the elastic in it. The gal at my LYS said I had to not knit tight (“RELAX”) when I used the elastic yarn but now I am thinking I was too relaxed! Ha, ha! I am also not accustomed to knitting with the cotton yarn for a hat so maybe that is also contributing to the hat being a bit stretched out? Whatever the case maybe… super cute pattern.

07-02-2011 Done!!!! Hat is a bit on the large size. Did 4 pattern repeats of the lace portion. Need to get a size 1 (16 inch circular) needle for the brim. Overall, a SUPER DUPER cute hat. A bit of work but well worth the effort. Next time, I need to knit the brim tighter (and with size 1 needles) and I will not cut the yarn each time I change colors in the stripey portion. Lots of loose ends to weave in the way I did it. Love this pattern. Will definitely make it again, just needs a little tweaking… not the pattern… just my knitting needs tweaking! :)

PINK HAT with WHITE stripes was knit in Cascade Sunseeker in Pink and Cascade Fixation in White. Hat is on display at Grandma’s Beads and Yarn in Canon City, Colorado, and was knit by one of the gals a the shop Marilyn or Michelle.
