Notes

Using size 7 needles because it’s--duh--worsted weight yarn. ^^

This is being started right now because I have pretty new yarn and the mohair I’m using for another project is annoying the hell out of me. This project, however, may be staying home, as I find it easier to knit the mohair at work (where I have loooooots of people to whine to ^^’).

This blanket is intended for me, as a lay-about-the-place-warmly sort of thing. I have high hopes! ^^

  • this blanket has already been frogged once and I’m contemplating frogging it again and restarting. I Do Not Like the nipple-y bit in the centre, even if it is less this time. I’ve extracted the charts so I could blow them up a little. xx My eyes, they needs a bigger chart.
  • probable changes if I do this: c/o 8, inc every other row in like style to pattern inc until enough st to start pattern. Alternate seed st & cable column for sides.

  • Currently on row 76. I think. ^^’ I’ve made some changes to the patterns up the sides of each section--they are now alternating 10 st seed stitch & 4x4 cables (with a purl st on either side), separated by a pkp border.
  • I am a lot closer to the theoretical end of this than I thought. It is not as large (so far) as I would have hoped and I hope blocking will do its wonders for it. ^^

That said, I’m loving the cabling in this pattern. ^^ The charts for sections beyond the seed stitch could be bigger; it’s hard to read them, both on-screen and printed.

Bah, I hate frogging. xx On the other hand, I’d rather not have the nipple in the middle. Dammit, though! So much I’ve knit! ;_;

- I am currently on row … *squints* 125? Pretty sure, anyway. I have two sections of seed stitch (10 st each) and nearly two sections of cable columns (10 st each, again ^^’). I think, when I’m done the second cable column, I’m going to start the edging. Or, hmm. I don’t really want edging twenty stitches deep. ^^’ I think I’ll continue in pattern until I have half the next seed stitch column ready and then go for the edging. I can’t wait to be finished!! ^^

- I stopped the pattern at row 141 and am now hip-deep in the border. Okay, in row two of the ten-row seed stitch border. ^^’ It’s going well. ^^ I’ve made some mistakes in it, I know (I’m pretty sure I accidentally did rows 119 & 120 twice. ^^’ There’s a unexpected double twist there), but I’m still happy. The yarn is awesome and cables are always fun. ^^

* finished casting off while sister was driving through the Fraser canyon! ^^ All ends are sewn in, just the blocking and the boasting remain
