I wanted a more slouchy hat in the back—Emma’s looked fairly slouchy in the movie. Here’s what I did:

Start with the original pattern Gwen Stacy by Hailey Knits

• Size 5 needles, cast on 110 stitches for ribbing

• Swtich to size 6 needles and go through the entire pattern to row 34

• Repeat rounds 3-34 again to double the length

• Add the modification to lengthen even more

Rd 35: P4, C3B, P4, K4, K2tog, YO, K2 

Rd 36: P4, K6, P4, K8 

Rd 37: P4, K6, P4, K3, K2tog, YO, K3 

Rd 38: P4, K6, P4, K8 

Rd 39: P4, K6, P4, K2, K2tog, YO, K4 

Rd 40: P4, C3B, P4, K8 

Rd 41: P4, K6, P4, K1, K2tog, YO, K2, B, K2 

Rd 42: P4, K6, P4, K8

• Begin decreases

Rd 1: P2tog, P2tog, K6, P2tog, P2tog, K3, YO, SSK, K1, K2tog
Rd 2: P2, SSK, K2, K2tog, P2, K5, K2tog 

Rd 3: P2, C4B, P2, SSK, K2, YO, SSK 

Rd 4: P2tog, SSK, K2tog, P2tog, SSK, K3 

Rd 5: P1, K2, P1, K4 

Rd 6: SSK, K2tog 

Rd 7: K2tog

I love how the hat turned out! I did end up blocking the hat to make it uber slouchy. But its easy to style it with more or less slouch as you prefer: folded like in the movie or poofy when Emma was wearing her sunnies. Enjoy!
