I went down to a size 5 needle to make the entire sweater smaller for my daughter. I’m getting 19 stitches and 28 rows in a 4 inch swatch with this needle. It’s making about a 20 inch chest before blocking, and I think it will easily block to about 21-22 total inches circumference.

My button band is on the opposite side because I left the neater edge of the band on the top and picked up from the messier looking side to hide it.

I was inspired by this lovely example and I’ll be making the stripes the same way.

I may end up ripping back a little on the bottom and adding one more stripe repeat. It seems like it will not be long enough for next fall. I might try to reblock it first.

I made little sleeves with short rows using a wrap & turn method, starting with 12 green stitches and expanding by 3 at a time at each end until I had 30 total. Then I purled a row in the round to make a nice edge for a hem. I then knit with the cream color until the last stitch, wrapped and turned, and continued by knitting or purling 3 less each row until I had only 12 white stitches not wrapped. I finished the row and picked up wraps as I went. Then I bound off in the white, picking up any remaining wraps in the BO row.
