Céline Barbeau’s “Au pied de l’arc-en-ciel” booties available exclusively at Effiloché. Gotta love that picot edging and that playful design.
28/09/07: Prequel version for Jacob in Apple Green Regia sock yarn (no pic yet). Cute as can be. Gave them at the christening on October 14, 2007. First delusion: they where way too small! The parents insisted on keeping them as a keepsake, tied with a ribbon. I was moved, but sad.
28/09/07: 1st pic is the Regia Bamboo version (Rainbow Marl with green trimming). It was my original 2nd rendition of the gift after the failed apple green ones, but there is no way they would fit Jacob albeit all the fudging and resizing - some other lucky “newborn” got them for X-Mas 2008 after a year spent in hibernation… (newbie godmother has baby feet length issues)
28/11/07: 1st pair that Jacob could actually wear (the purple and green trimming finished pair), done in Ultra Alpaca Light and given to him, finally, on his B-day March 30th, 2008 (because he grew too fast compared to my learning curve, I had to switch from fingering to DK to accommodate his not-so-baby-anymore feet after a lot of unsuccessful fudging, resizing, redesigning and retakes). His mom told me on Dec 13, 2008, that he still wears them! Yeah! I didn’t suffer in vain after all!
28/11/07: Orphan bootie (pic 3) from 2nd pair in Ultra Alpaca Light (because I first CO the M instead of the L - and realized upon try-outs at X-mas that these would not fit him too - doh!). This one is in hibernation for now, waiting for me to grant him his sibbling.
22/09/07: And a pair of completed Baby Ull booties to sew… way way too small cause I knitted too slow and too tight at the time.
Do I have unfinished business issues!? Nah!
Instant gratification knitting? Definitely NOT!!
Do not laugh please, it still hurts my pride a little.
