Oct26 Looking for a shawl pattern, preferably in crochet, since I already have a WIP in lace knitting, I came up with this. The written instructions are kind of tricky to understand (I always prefer charts, especially when it comes to crocheting, so many different terms for same stitch!) but after looking at a few projects I realized it’s the same old Tulip Stitch! :) I have done that before in a baby blanket and a scarf, but never tried a triangular version or lacy-look. So there goes, this will be my brainless crochet…. :)
Swatched on hook3,5 and 4, I think 4 is much better. Can’t find my 4,5….. that might be even better, since the yarn blooms after washing (have done a few knitted swatches as well…) but, well, winter is on the way and it surely will be warm. Can’t decide yet how to do the border… But then again, I just cast on, so plenty of time still.
Oct29 1.am :)) just finished. The border took me the whole evening and part of the night, but I think it was worth it. Love this project. Really really love it. I will post pictures tomorrow, I don’t really know how well it will block, I’d like a bit fierce blocking, but we’ll see… In it’s unwashed state the yarn seams a little fragile.
Blocked really nice, and I think the end result is pretty stunning. I picked this shade of yarn as a last moment decision - I was originally choosing something totally different. And when it arrived, it was “sitting” in front of my eyes for ~ a week with me having no idea of what to do with it or what was I thinking picking this shade, etc….. nothing seamed right for it. But, I guess when inspiration comes, it changes everything.
