Gauge is 28 sts over 36 rows
Following the 37” pattern to have a 35” sweater. Hopefully the fit will be 2” positive ease.

I’m pretty new to colorwork. I’ve done a couple of small projects, that I’ve then given as gifts, but no sweaters, and nothing for myself. While I’m pretty happy with how I’ve done it previously I found this info/guide very helpful. And it kind of just took some of the stress out of trying something new-ish.

12/3 - Finished sleeve one! I’ve been alternating working on them in order to keep an even gauge. My row gauge is off so the sleeve were already longer than the pattern suggests after all increases. I, however, having long arms, kept going another 12 rows after all the increases to make a 20.5” sleeve before joining.

12/11 - Increased waist knitting by an inch, making it 2 inches before starting increases again. Measures 15 inches after all increases, and the current plan is to knit 2 more inches before picking up the sleeves.

12/19 - I tried on the sweater after finishing the yoke colorwork. It fit great, but very boatneck. So when I started short rows I made sure to knit over the shoulders. I also shortened the yoke by knitting fewer rounds. Here are my edits:

• Knitting the 37” I knit 5 rows after the first decrease.
• Added extra short row before 2nd decrease. (Knit 63, w&t, purl to marker, purl 63, w&t, knit to marker, knit 1 round.)
• Knit second decrease followed by 1 knit round before starting written short rows.
• Followed the short rows for the 42.5” pattern.

After blocking sweater length measurements are:
Sleeves - 21.5”
Body, length to join - 17.5”
Yoke depth - 9”
