Notes

Yup, those are my toes in the finished blanket photo. As usual I’m standing on top of a sturdy wooden chair while I hold my camera high overhead trying capture the entire ripple in the frame. I usually end up with many shots of my toes, but this one is unusual because I actually managed to catch the blanket pretty much straight on, not at an angle, so I left it uncropped.

My simple repeating stripe plan would have come out several rows short of my usual 84-row blanket - not enough of every color of yarn left to do one more repeat, so… I just added an extra row to this stripe and that! A handy technique if you’re ever in a similar situation.

Check out my yarn leftovers! This is how I like to end a ripple - with some partial skeins still large enough to make several rows in a ripple, just one scrap ball, my least favorite yarn form with only enough left for two or three rows, and some mini scrap balls, too small for even one row, so I’ll save them for another mini-scrap granny.

As usual I modified the Rustic Ripple pattern - used an H hook with only one strand of yarn and increased each run of double crochet stitches to ten.
