Longtail cast-on in 2x2 pattern

33 rounds of 2x2 ribbing

Initially worked 20 rounds after the last gusset decrease so that finished sock was 3.75” in length. I had looked at various baby size charts for newborn foot length and thought 3.75” was the way to go. However, some friends advised me that it was just a little too long, so I will rip back the toe plus 7 rounds and then work the toe again.

Final: 13 rounds after the last gusset decrease. Foot is 3 3/8”.

I used TECHknitter’s instructions to Kitchener without a tapestry needle found here. Each sock has a tiny “ear” on either end of the seam as if the last stitch was too big. I tightened everything up, but still have the ears.

My skein weighed 23.62 grams to start. The socks weigh 20.32 grams. I estimate I used 76 yards.
