I tried several different ways of increasing stitches to see which I liked best. I ended up using the yarn over but knit through the back on the following round. I didn’t care for the bump of the kfb, though I didn’t think to try Meg Swanson’s method, which may have looked good. I made the newborn size (80 sts) but worked until I had about 2.5 grams of yarn left before starting decreases. This is a little longer than called for.

Before blocking, it seemed like this hat couldn’t possibly stretch enough to fit on a baby’s head. Now that it’s blocked, I think it’s fine.
