Notes

My first attempt at actually designing anything… Rob really wanted a pair of gaming gloves, so I figured I might as well make them Mass Effect themed! The paragon/renegade symbols are really integral to the game, so I used those as inspiration. I also wanted to integrate the N7 logo/stripes somewhere.

Notes

  • I adapted the Paragon/Renegade symbols from this pattern.

  • The first glove (Renegade/red star) has red all the way around the palm, so the red part of the N7 sign was also done stranded. For the second glove (Paragon/blue wing) I didn’t want to strand the red around the palm so I did it in intarsia (which I learned from this tutorial).

  • The white N7 letters were duplicate-stitched after the rest of the glove was finished.

  • The top and bottom stripes were meant to evoke the N7 stripe, although I’m not sure how well that turned out. Next time I would make the white more prominent.

  • The thumb gusset was large, which turned out great since he has a meaty palm, but I would shorten it for anyone else

  • He loves the stranded colorwork on the palms

  • I used this tubular cast on, and this tubular cast off for the main part of the glove. For the thumb, I used a regular stretchy lace bind off.
