reading an instagram friends posts, cancer, surgery and the loss of her parents all at once made me feel helpless and needing to do something.
autumn comfort rainbow shawl was born. reading the friends posts really pulled at my heart. i once had a comfort shawl made for me by my aunt and her church group, and it meant a lot, so much comfort when it was needed.
i knit using a basic triangle shape with m1’s at the center spine for increases. i added noro silk garden for a bit of color, knit until the yarn ran out and then finished with a wide garter border. i hope the recipient will feel the love knit into every stitch.
(the beautiful natural color wool is from friend Tangle Wood Farm in Kentucky, it’s handdyed wool/alpaca ~ 2 skeins 180 yds per.
