i finished my first dress! it is a wonderful pattern by gudrun johnston, from the book fair isle style by mary jane mucklestone. simple and truly fun to knit. it’s top down, a bit of fair isle, sleeves in the round and then as long (or short) as you like! i omitted the pockets, thinking it would make the dress a little more age appropriate for me? :) well, i love it, it’s lovely and comfy and really soft, i used loft one of my most favorite wools ever. it’s light and delicate, yet sturdy in a way, this is a wearable knit!
with my dress and hap (hansel) shawl both completed i am ready for my trip to the shetland islands! (33 more sleeps!!)
p.s. the dress really didn’t take so long, it was just a pick up put down sort of knit, in between i finished several shawls, a sweater and um a few books ;)
thank you gudrun and mary jane!
