LOVE xxx

would give this pattern and yarn ten stars if i could! such a sweet lovely knit, to make and to wear. it’s very simple and engaging at the same time. written and charted, easy to memorize. as soon as this was finished i cast on for another, a first for me, two in a row!

easily adaptable to different weights of yarn. i used jade sapphire silk cashmere lace (some of the most beautiful yarn i’ve ever knit with) and size 6 needles and was able to make a shawl size with just one skein (there are 400 yards to a skein). i don’t have a scale to weigh the amount left, but it was a very small bit. the pattern calls for 10 repeats, i kept knitting until i ran out of yarn, 14 repeats total.

i used kid silk haze for the picot bind off, and blocked the points out just a tiny bit, preferring a softer edge.

i read some say they would cast on looser if making again. there are only 5 stitches to begin (kat recommends the knitted cast on), i think it’s the construction of this shawl that makes the top edge pull in a bit. this is my favorite part, it’s what helps it to lay so nicely across the shoulders, and not fall off.

thank you kat for this lovely pattern, and thank you gale for the inspiration!
