Notes

Super happy with how these turned out and love the cables but in future will avoid glove patterns that only come in size Large since I have super small hands and knit loosely, so had to make a lot of mods to fit. (Circumference around my palm seems to be about 7.25”, which actually isn’t that small,so maybe the issue is more the loose knitting).

4/5/2015: Even with size 000 needles they were too big—frogged them again and reknitted them with extensive pattern edits—took them in by about 10% or more. I also learned that my fingers are NOT the same length on both hands… my index finger is shorter by half an inch on one hand and my pinky fingers are different lengths too.

My main modifications to make it smaller:

  1. At round 33 on both hands, decreased four stitches evenly across the palm, and four stitches on the back of the hand (at the tips of the ribbing, or where the ribbing was).

  2. At row 37, decreased 6 stitches across back of hand (again, above where the ribs end)

  3. At row 41, decreased one stitch above tip of center rib.

  4. When I got to the fingers, that left…

--Index finger: 5 stitches from back of hand, 6 from the palm, and 3 picked up between. The right finger was 17 rows long, the left was 24 (very different finger lengths!)
--Middle: 6 stitches back of hand, 5 from palm. 25 rows long on R, 27 on L.
--Ring: 5 from back of hand, 5 from palm. 25 rows long on both hands.
--Pinky: Reduced two stitches at row 6. 23 rows on R, a bit less on L.
--Thumb: At row 7, I decreased 3 stitches evenly around.

1/15/2015: Frogged and restarted with size 000 needles. We’ll see!

Feb. 2014: Got stalled on these because they are coming out way too big even on size 0 needles with light fingering… going to rip back a little and try size 000 to see if I can get them to fit better.
