Cast on 52 sts, size 6 needles. Worked 1x1 rib for the first 4 rows instead of the garter stitch.

On the first increase row I just knit the first 7 stitches on either side of the button band to make up for the extra stitches I added with the cast on. Then increased per pattern instructions.

On the second increase row I divided the stitches 27 stitches on either side of the button band. Then I k7, k1f&b, k1 until I got to the first marker, kf&b every st until next marker, k1f&b k1 until 7 sts remain, k7.

On the 29th row (past the neckline) I divided the sleeves from the front and back and started k1p1 on each sleeve.

I used the knitted cast on and cast on 6 stitches under each arm.

I worked k1p1 rib along the hem. I love the way it turned out! I’ve made one of these before and I had problems with the garter stitch hem flipping up, the ribbed hem seems to do much better.
